  9. We hope to have MacApp 2.0B9 available from APDA by the Developer's Conference
  10. in early May.  Because of the time it takes to get disks, manuals and packaging
  11. together, no further substantive changes can be made to release 2.0B9.
  12. Moreover, we want to assure developers that once they modify their 2.0B5 code
  13. to be compatible with 2.0B9, they will not need to make further changes.  So
  14. the only changes between B9 and final will be to fix any serious bugs that crop
  15. up.

  17. The recent debate on locking brings up a number of complex issues which deserve
  18. more discussion.  Should the mechanism guarantee survivability across an
  19. exception which causes the stack to be unwound?  How much should it be used,
  20. and for what?  What overhead is acceptable?
  21.  
  22. So let the debate continue.
